The TGAA is designed for the competitive golfer and it works for all golf skill levels--men, women, beginners, and professionals regardless of handicap. Since the game of golf began, the majority of golfers were separated from the professionals who play for cash prizes. Now the TGAA has established an arena in which golfers can compete in a fair and equitable environment. This new evolution of competition is possible because of the strict adherence to a USGA approved handicap system using only tournament scores which eliminates sandbagging. This system allows a scratch golfer to play on an even field with a golfer that has a handicap, likewise, a higher handicap golfer does not have to fear a lower handicapped or scratch golfer.
TGAA membership benefits include:
- Professional tournament atmosphere and camaraderie
- Variety of outstanding courses throughout Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Delaware, and New Jersey as well as other states
- The TGAA Newsletter
- Cash prizes for the top 25 percent of finishers or script if you wish to retain your amateur status
- Discounts at many of the courses the TGAA plays
- Potential tax benefits (you may be able to write off your golfing expenses)
