What is the TGAA

What is the Tournament Golf Association of America?

The Tournament Golf Association of America (TGAA) is a member organization formed to provide golfers with a national arena for fair and competitive golf events. Currently there are two regions the Mid-Atlantic (MATGAA - DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA & WV) and South West (SWTGA – AR, LA, OK & TX) that have active tournament schedules. There are a few states that have expressed an interest and should begin events in 2002.

Each region or state is responsible for establishing a tournament schedule consistent with what can be supported by the membership and of course the climate. The SWTGAA plays a tournament every other weekend at a minimum, twelve months of the year. The MATGAA plays a tournament every weekend beginning in March and through October with special events sometimes scheduled in February or November depending on the weather. These local tournaments provide not only the opportunity to win cash but also to earn points that qualify members for State, Regional and National Championships.

The tournaments are designed to duplicate the quality of professional events as seen on television. The goal is to develop and maintain the largest professional golf membership organization providing services for the avid golfer both locally and nationally.
